It feels like many days ago, but refreshed by a single letter of acknowledgment - quite unexpected, but very natural. The letter reminds us of old times when we had no mobile phones and letters reassured us that all is well with the world. A letter also endorses the fact that one of those splendid days did take place, one which has found a room in your heart.
It was my luck to have been a guest of the President of India; my mother luckier, first to have been the eldest daughter of Late Professor Asoke Kumar Bhattacharyya, one of this year's recipients of the Padma Shri and secondly in proudly representing him in his sad absence, treading on the red carpet to receive the award. I sat among the audience and clapped until my hands turned red !
