REDEMPTION

The words jostled in my mind to gain utterance.
I put them down with a pen.
I shut the notebook with vehemence.
That way, it was neither loss, nor utterance.

It works for those who seek not redemption from the past.
I sought out a loose knot and unstrapped all my pent up screams.
That way, I lost and won

A way of life that hasn’t anything held up.
