Anuradha Bhattacharyya receiving the CSA Award

On the very delightful morning of April 29, an auspicious day in Hindu tradition 'akshaye tritiya', I was awarded the Best Book Prize of Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi. Thanks goes to Chandigarh Administration, The Secretary of Home Affairs Mr. Aggrawal and to the organizers who invited a great number of authors and litterateurs from far and near to attend the event. It was a cozy venue, where I had been once earlier in December 2013 to present poetry. This time, it was to receive the Award.
In his introductory speech Mr. Madhav Kaushik, Vice-chairperson emphasized on the neutrality of the judges. Each book was rendered indistinguishable by applying a brown tape on the title and name of the author. The 3 judges were very senior literary figures from outside the state to ensure complete anonymity.
Afterwards, each recipient was invited to speak a few words about themselves and their work.
