Tyrants

Not one, we’ve seen too many
Already and there’s still no end
In the twenty first century –
This one for two months hid the truth
And killed those who’d speak of jeopardy.

This one left bleeding to death
A countless mass of innocent men
Who had vowed allegiance to his rule
Without fear or questions said.
He had pledged no care for those thousands dead.

This one levied certain
Punishment
For those who questioned his methods.
For a seat of power
Over three billion population.

Who knows if
He wanted power in terms of
Economy too, as he usurped
Businesses that the wise would rather do?
And he’d leave whimpering other nations too.

I might as well sing aloud
A song to denounce him in time…
Not wait wondering if I’ve been unfair.
I might as well ask others to join in chorus
Towards his early downfall.
